The human population is also growing exponentially. The pressures and antagonisms of today are not going to improve by themselves. We may find that only "hive mentality" and "hive behavior" will allow us to survive. Individuality is too expensive.
On the other hand, there have been die-offs before. Each mass extinction eliminates certain patterns of behavior and ideas. It seems tha tthe message is

Next to technical speeds and evolution which is very impressive in this video, I recall from it that today one week of text in the Financial Times is as much as what our brains needed to absorb in a lifetime in 1800.
We get soo much information I sometimes feel my brain is going to melt. I wonder how this affects them by the way?
Could Alsheimer and other brain deseases come from here?
Then let us look at our kids, they are 5 years ahead at what we could do at their age a generation ago. In two generations babies will get born knowing how to navigate the Nokia phone. ;-)
